Looking for free local activities to do here in Memphis? Here are some of our suggestions.
Tuesdays at Lichterman Nature Center
Every Tuesday at the nature center is free to the public from 1pm until closing time. A full 65 acres of forests and meadows, featuring stunning gardens and exhibits plus plenty of local wildlife, await you at the Lichterman Nature Center.
Tuesdays at the Memphis Zoo
Another fun free Tuesday activity is going to the Memphis Zoo. Our zoo here in Memphis is one of only four in the country with a panda, but that’s not the only reason to go—check out any of the 3,500 animals housed inside anytime between 2pm and closing time on Tuesdays.
Center for Southern Folklore
Do you like to steep yourself in culture and heritage? Check out the art, music, and crafts of the region at the Center for Southern Folklore, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting people with Tennessee’s Southern roots.
Mud Island Riverwalk
A celebration of the Mississippi River’s historic role in Memphis, the Mud Island Riverwalk spans five city blocks and contains displays providing information on the river’s contributions to the city’s success, including the region’s scenic bridges and basins.
Mornings in Graceland’s Meditation Garden
The former home of Elvis Presley, Graceland is open for tours all the time. However, did you know you can enjoy the King’s Meditation Garden for free first thing the morning from 7:30 to 8:30?
We at Gossett Kia hope that you will check out some of the free local activities Memphis has to offer.
