A few years ago, Kia introduced the sporty and thrilling Stinger to its lineup. This sports sedan has sharp styling, advanced technology, and engaging performance. But it’s more than just good looks and exhilarating performance — it’s a safe and sound choice. Further proving this point is the recent news that the Stinger earned the 2019 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ — the highest score for safety offered by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
To earn this rating, the Stinger achieved the top “Good” rating in six crash tests, including the difficult small overlap tests. It also earned a “Superior” rating for front crash prevention and a “Good” rating for its available headlights. With this recent safety achievement, Kia now boasts 10 models with either a TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating.
Michael Cole, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA, said, “Stinger was engineered to be the fastest and highest performing vehicle in Kia’s history, undergoing the company’s most intense R&D effort to date, but it also continues Kia’s tradition of offering advanced collision avoidance systems. Earning another TSP+ award is just one more piece of evidence demonstrating our commitment to ‘Give it Everything.’”
As another safety achievement, the Stinger was the first Kia model to offer two new technologies: Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Warning. Lane Keeping Assist works to keep the Stinger centered in the lane. If it detects any unintentional drifting, it will warn the driver and provide gentle steering input to keep the vehicle centered. As for Driver Attention Warning, it can detect a sleepy driver and give him or her a warning to take a break.
Experience the power, the presence, and, yes, the safety of the new 2019 Kia Stinger at Gossett Kia. You’ll be glad you did.
