Kia is transcending the minivan segment. The Korean carmaker just unveiled the all-new 2022 Kia Carnival, a new Kia Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) that is nothing like a traditional family hauler.
The all-new Kia MPV is replacing the brand’s outgoing Kia Sedona minivan. It’s an out-of-the-box take on a family vehicle, transcending the minivan segment, though it’s still a member of that class. Its SUV-like design has a commanding presence with a boxy shape that stands out. It also is the first vehicle to be sold in the US with Kia’s new logo.
Inside, the new Kia minivan can seat either seven or eight passengers across three rows of seats. It offers best-in-class cargo room and passenger room, which means you can easily flex its cabin to become whatever you need it to be.
Under the hood, you will find a 3.5-liter V6 engine that puts out a best-in-class 290 horsepower. It can tow up to 3,500 pounds with confidence, meaning you don’t need to leave your boat or trailer behind on your family’s next adventure. The Carnival also comes standard with an extensive range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems to help you feel confident behind the wheel.
The 2022 Carnival MPV will come in four trim levels: LX, EX, SX, and SX-Prestige. It’s expected to go on sale the second quarter of this year. Until then, stay tuned to the Gossett Kia blog for the latest details about the Carnival and other Kia news.
