Despite the ongoing effects of a global pandemic, the Kia brand posted its best sales in 2021. Kia sales in December reached 48,506 units. This amount means that for the first time ever, Kia sales exceeded the brand’s 700,000-sales mark.
Several models led the charge, each posting all-time annual sales records. These models were the Forte, Seltos, Sportage, Telluride, and Niro EV. The hybrid and battery-electric vehicles in the Kia lineup posted impressive sales numbers, too.
“Announcing best-ever annual sales is always a moment of pride, but for Kia to reach such heights in light of the ongoing pandemic and supply chain issues clearly illustrates the strength of our product line-up and the demand we have created for the Kia brand throughout 2021,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America.
Breaking its own sales record in the U.S. wasn’t the only proud moment for Kia. The Kia Telluride earned its third consecutive “Top Rated SUV” award from Edmunds and its third annual Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award. The Kia Seltos earned the Best Subcompact SUV award from KBB for the second rear in a row. The Car Connection named the Telluride and the Carnival MPV with the “Best Family Car to Buy 2022” and the “Best Minivan to Buy 2022,” respectively.
