The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety assesses and rates vehicles from all brands and segments each year to determine which models are the safest. This year, Kia has received eight total IIHS Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ awards.
“As the Kia brand makes a momentous shift toward electrification with our next generation of vehicles, passenger safety remains a top priority,” said Sean Yoon, president and CEO of Kia America, Kia North America. “These eight TOP SAFETY PICK and TOP SAFETY PICK+ accolades from IIHS are the direct results of our commitment to delivering the highest standards for crash readiness, structural integrity and available safety systems for our customers.”
Top Safety Pick winners include the Carnival (built after March 2021), Seltos, Sorento, Soul, Sportage, and Telluride. However, two Kia models went even further, earning the coveted Top Safety Pick+ accolade. The Kia K5 and Kia Stinger both earned the top rating thanks to superior standard systems like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist-Pedestrian and High Beam Assist.
These eight IIHS safety awards have Kia tied for the second most combined TSP and TSP+ vehicles in the industry for 2022. If you’d like to see these incredibly safe vehicles in action or if you want to learn more about their features, contact our team at Gossett Kia in Memphis, Tennessee.
